PPROJECT BRIEF

A safe post disaster housing paves a path for a strong community. Aldaem is a community housing for the residents of Mar Mikhael who lost their homes to the blast at the port. It contains eighteen comfortable homes, each having a parking area and a roof terrace. The corridors that run through these units, grant the users a view of the community space and the outside world on either end. The large circular green space that is enclosed within these units, serves as a community space, an amenity that all users have access to. Social, Cultural and Leisure activities are carried out here, which further helps bring together and strengthens their sense of belonging. The form and arrangement of spaces within the group housing aids in reactivating the community and empowers people to rebuild their homes, their lives, and their livelihoods.
